The temperature at night is dropping way too low for my taste right now. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE winter, and I LOVE cold at that point, but not in september, that’s just way too early for my taste. I got this urge yesterday, to just take my camera and go for a somewhat long drive… so I did! Not that I ended up doing a terribly huge amount of photography, but it was calming regardless. Also, I’ve probably got a small project you’ll be seeing more of around here soon. If you’re any fan at all of my photography it might be to your interest… I’ll keep you guys posted!
The last month or so has probably been the most calm, yet the most turbulent, month of my life. First of all I guess I better explain why, all of a sudden, I’m writing in English. There’s quite an easy explanation for that. When I was writing in Japan, it was mainly to make it easier for friends and family (as well as complete strangers) to follow my adventures in the land of the rising sun. Now, that I’m back in Sweden, I guess the main reason to me writing here is for my friends in Japan (and all over the world) to be able to see what I’m up to these days. It also makes way more sense to begin with, considering pretty much everyone reading here in Sweden understands English anyways.
Basically, as it is right now, I have no idea what so ever what I’ll be doing the upcoming few months. The only reason I came back to Sweden in the first place was to begin my studies at university… but since my ever-so-wonderful school simply didn’t bother to send in my grades to the proper place, I didn’t get admitted to any of the educations I’d applied for. Funnily enough I didn’t even get that upset about it… I guess deep within I had a hunch that something would go wrong. So basically the situation I’m in is that I’m in the wrong country, and most of the people I love and care about are on the other side of the world, and the only thing I had to look forward to here in Sweden basically slipped right out of my hands.
Thankfully though, I have an amazing family and a few REALLY good friends, all who have made everything in their power to make me feel welcome and at home. And they’ve definitely succeeded in their attempts. I HAVE been feeling most welcome and quite at home (I guess it’s kind of difficult to erase 23 years of living in one city). Anywho, enough about that, I’ll get back on track and sort things out somehow, I’ve no doubt in my mind that I will.
Last week me, Patrik and Linus decided to take a well-needed few hours at the open sea… the plan was to do some waterskiing as well as bodyboarding (which is basically our hardcore version of kneeboarding). The only problem when we arrived was that we realized how friggin cold the water was. Northern winds for the last 2 weeks didn’t quite help as we’re on the southern coast of Sweden. Patrik was brave enough to actually get in the water, and I took over his duties behind the “rudder”. Considering it was his first time doing anything after a boat, I must say I was quite impressed by his performance.
There’s something magical about the sea and archipelago where I live. I’ve spent a big portion of childhood summers in, or close to, the archipelago, and I always get extremely calm and harmonic as soon as I get out there. It’s definitely something I NEED for my general well-being. It was an amazing day and hopefully there will be at least one more of these little adventures before Patrik is leaving for Umeå (where he’s studying) again later this week.
I’ll let the photos (99% courtesy of Linus) speak for themselves now.
